My friend Jackie gave me some lovely minions fabric.  Not long afterwards, my brother requested a minions quilt.  It’s funny how the universe works that way.  I looked through my patterns and the Jaybird pattern Ballerina jumped out as the obvious choice.  I only needed to pull a couple more fabrics from my stash and I was lucky enough to have some that coordinated nicely.  Please forgive the fuzziness of a couple of the photos… around this time my phone camera decided to stop focusing.  Grrrr.

I had previously used the Ballerina pattern when I made a quilt for baby Kai, and I thought the baby size might be a little small for an adult to use as a lap quilt.  So instead of cutting the quilt off square, I decided to add borders and size it up a bit.  It came together really fast with those nice big pieces.  Karen and I picked the Mod Dotz pantograph, and of course it is backed with minky.  I’ll be giving it to my brother at the end of the month.  I can’t wait!
